STAR Before and After School Program
The Hoffman Estates Park District’s STAR Before & After School Program is for children needing before- and after-school care. The STAR program provides your child with a safe environment in a recreational setting. Activities may include, but are not limited to, art projects, sports, games, outdoor play, and homework time.
Before School: 7:00 a.m. until the start of school
After School: School dismissal until 6:00 p.m.
Serving the following schools in District 54: MacArthur, Muir, Armstrong, Fairview, Lakeview, and Lincoln Prairie.
Serving the following schools in District 15: Frank C. Whiteley.
For enrollment or to be placed on the waitlist, please visit the Triphahn Center or Willow Recreation Center to complete enrollment forms and add your payment method to your household. All enrollment requests will be reviewed, and we will contact you when your enrollment can be processed.
2025/2026 Registration Information:
A $50 non-refundable, non-transferable processing fee is due at the time of registration. Families will not be charged the registration fee until they are offered and accept a spot in the program.
Automatic billing is required for STAR. Payments will be withdrawn from your credit or debit card account on the 10th of each month, from August through April.

2026/2027 Registration Information:
Priority registration for currently registered families for the 2026-2027 school year will open on March 11th.
Open registration for the public for the 2026- 2027 school year will open on March 16th.

Changes & Cancellations
Contact Paige Calvey,to receive a cancellation form.
A cancel/change form must be completed for any changes to your child’s program.
STAR schedule changes must be received by NOON on the Wednesday prior to the week for which changes are requested.
Changes take two business days to process and go into effect on Mondays.
We are unable to prorate fees for days missed due to illness, vacation, or behavior suspensions.
A service fee will be charged for all schedule changes.
Cancellations must be received 30 days prior to the last day of attendance to receive a full refund.
